A truly unique skincare experience created especially for you.
At Cosmo, you receive the best of two worlds: a clinical PRP treatment with documented effects on skin renewal, and a personally tailored cream that continues the effect at home using your own growth factors.
#1 In Brief
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is an advanced biological method in which the body’s own growth factors are extracted and used to regenerate the skin. A blood sample is taken, and the plasma – rich in platelets and growth factors – is isolated through centrifugation. This active component of the blood stimulates the body’s own stem cells and promotes repair, healing, and renewal.
The treatment stimulates skin stem cells, improves elasticity, and reduces fine lines, scars, stretch marks, sun damage, dark circles under the eyes, wrinkles, and sagging skin.
We also offer our PRP treatment including your own personalized cream.
After PRP extraction, your plasma fraction is mixed with Ego Identical Base Cream from the Danish brand Beauté Pacifique – a highly active, clinical base formulation. The cream contains your own platelet-rich plasma and therefore becomes a personal, targeted skincare product that prolongs and enhances the effect of your PRP treatment – directly from your bathroom shelf.
Ego Identical Cream is an effective daily skincare product that delivers impressive results by naturally strengthening and rebuilding the skin. The cream is prepared for you directly in the clinic.
How is my personal cream made?
To create the unique Ego Identical – Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) cream, a blood sample is first taken. The blood is then centrifuged to separate its main components, and the plasma fraction is selected, as this fraction contains the highest concentration of platelets, also known as platelet-rich plasma.
This fraction is carefully blended into the provided Ego Identical Base Cream. Your fully personalized Ego Identical cream thus contains a high concentration of platelets that release growth factors promoting skin rejuvenation and regeneration.
#2 Before Treatment
During the consultation, the nurse will carry out a professional assessment of the areas requiring treatment and, in collaboration with you, prepare a treatment plan.
Avoid taking blood-thinning products such as fish oil, Treo, Ipren, Kodimagnyl, or similar medications for four days prior to treatment, as these may increase the risk of bruising and bleeding in the treated area.
The treatment area must be intact, without infections, wounds, or irritation. It is also recommended that the skin is well cared for before starting treatment. Well-maintained skin responds better to treatment and is able to recover more quickly.
If these precautions are not followed, the treatment may be cancelled or postponed. We reserve the right to cancel treatment in cases where we assess an increased risk of side effects.
We also reserve the right to charge a fee of DKK 500 if you are sent home and the appointment must be cancelled later than 24 hours before the scheduled treatment.
According to legislation on cosmetic treatments, the treated area must be photographed before treatment can begin.
#3 During Treatment
The treatment plan is reviewed, after which the skin is cleansed and disinfected and the treatment area is identified. The nurse then takes a small amount of blood from your arm approximately 10 ml. The blood is centrifuged to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the other blood components. Once the plasma is ready, it is microneedled or injected into the area to be treated. Depending on the area, local anesthesia is often used. The treatment typically lasts 30–60 minutes.
#4 After Treatment
After treatment, there is a risk of infection in the treated area. It is therefore important to avoid touching the area and applying makeup for at least 24 hours.
Avoid touching, washing, or rubbing the skin during the first 24 hours. Use only clean, lukewarm water if necessary. Sweat may irritate the skin and increase the risk of infection; therefore, wait at least 24 hours before exercising.
Avoid direct sunlight for 3 days and wear a wide-brimmed hat if you must go outside. Use high sun protection (SPF 50) daily, even in cloudy weather. Avoid sun exposure during midday hours (11:00–15:00).
Wait 3–5 days before using steam baths or saunas. Alcohol and smoking may impair healing and negatively affect results.
Avoid AHA/BHA acids, retinol, peels, and exfoliating masks for at least 5–7 days.
#5 Number of Treatments and Expectations
Immediately after treatment, you may experience redness (similar to mild sunburn), swelling – especially around the eyes and cheeks – mild tingling, warmth, or discomfort, and possibly small bruises. These reactions are completely normal and gradually subside.
After 1–2 days, redness and swelling usually decrease. The skin may feel tight, dry, rough, itchy, or slightly irritated.
By days 3–5, the skin begins to heal and form new tissue. Mild peeling or dryness may occur. At this stage, you may use gentle creams or your personal Ego Identical cream along with sun protection.
After 1–2 weeks, the skin often appears more even and refreshed. You may notice renewed radiance and increased firmness. Collagen and tissue regeneration are underway, and the effect continues to build gradually.
After 3–6 weeks, full results are typically visible, including firmer skin, improved texture, and possible reduction of fine lines, pores, or pigmentation.
Most patients require a course of 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 6–12 months.
If you use your personal Ego Identical cream, we recommend returning every 3 months to have a new one prepared.
Maintenance: twice yearly treatments and daily use of the cream.
After 12 weeks, a clear effect on sun damage is visible, and collagen stimulation is significantly increased (up to +50%).
(The cream can be used on its own and without the addition of other products.)
