At Cosmo Laser, treatment of unwanted or stubborn fat deposits is performed using fat freezing with CoolSculpting Elite.

CoolSculpting technology ensures precise and controlled cooling of fat cells beneath the skin without the use of needles and without affecting the surrounding tissue. The treatment is suitable for reducing visible fat bulges, typically under the chin, on the thighs, upper arms, as well as abdominal and back fat.

The number of fat cells in the body does not change with weight gain or weight loss; instead, the size of the individual fat cells changes. Fat cells that are frozen during treatment are gradually destroyed and eliminated from the body through a natural metabolic process.

During your consultation, the nurse will identify the desired treatment areas and, in collaboration with you, prepare a treatment plan including the number of applicator placements required to achieve optimal results.

Before treatment begins, the nurse will weigh you and take measurements of the areas to be treated. The treatment area must be intact, without infection, wounds, or irritation. It is also recommended that the skin is well cared for prior to treatment.

If these precautions are not followed, the treatment may be cancelled or postponed. We reserve the right to cancel treatment in cases where we assess an increased risk of side effects. We also reserve the right to charge a fee of DKK 500 if you are sent home and the appointment must be cancelled later than 24 hours before the scheduled treatment. This also applies in cases of no-shows or cancellations later than 24 hours before treatment.

According to legislation on cosmetic treatments, the treated area must be photographed before treatment can begin.

The treatment plan is reviewed, after which the desired treatment areas are identified and marked. The skin is cleansed, and a cooling gel pad is applied to the treatment area. The cooling applicator is then placed on the selected area.

During treatment, you may experience sensations such as pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, soreness, or muscle cramping in the treated area. These sensations typically subside as the area becomes numb.

After 35–45 minutes, the applicators are removed, and the treated area is massaged.

Immediately after treatment, you may experience mild redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, soreness, cramping, itching, skin sensitivity, or numbness.

These effects are temporary and generally resolve within days or weeks. When treating the chin area, a sensation of fullness at the back of the throat may occur after treatment.

CoolSculpting is a completely non-surgical treatment with minimal downtime, and it is typically possible to return to normal activities almost immediately. This may vary from person to person and depends on the treatment area.

With one CoolSculpting treatment, it is possible to reduce up to 25% of the treated fat cells, depending on the area. Results develop over 2–6 months as the body naturally eliminates the destroyed fat cells.

The number of treatments is assessed individually. If further reduction is needed, an additional treatment may be performed after 4 weeks. In some cases, we wait up to 3 months before performing a second treatment, once the final result is visible.

The fat cells that are treated and crystallized during a session are permanently removed from the body and will not return. However, the remaining fat cells may increase in size if significant weight gain occurs.

In some cases, numbness may last for several weeks. In rare instances, additional side effects may occur, such as delayed pain, frostbite, hyperpigmentation, or hernia. If symptoms worsen or unexpected reactions occur in the treated area, you are advised to contact the clinic immediately and speak with a doctor or nurse.

The following are reasons why you cannot be approved for the treatment:

• Severe obesity or underweight
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Diabetes
• Autoimmune diseases
• Use of anticoagulant medication (blood-thinning treatment)
• Bleeding disorders / hemophilia
• Cold urticaria (cold allergy).

According to legislation on cosmetic treatments, you may provide consent for treatment immediately after receiving oral information. A companion is always very welcome to be present during consultation and treatment.
